Skiing & Snowboarding
Skiing conditions and facilities in Austria are second to none and Innsbruck is regarded as the snowboarding capital of Europe. Austria is home to world famous ski resorts such as Bad Hofgastein, St Anton and Salzburg. The slopes open in November until early May but all year round skiing and summer glacier skiing is available in Austria.
 
National Parks
Austria is home to six national parks including the famous Hohe Tauern, which is the largest covering 1800 square kilometres. Famous landmarks of Austria’s national parks include the 3798 meter Grossglockner and the stunning Krimml Waterfalls. All of Austria’s parks contain an abundance of wildlife and majestic lakes and are the ideal place for sports activities such as hiking, mountain biking, rafting and horse riding.
 
Water Sports
With an abundance of beautiful alpine lakes there is no shortage of water sports on a holiday in Austria. Summer holidaymakers can enjoy swimming, snorkelling and windsurfing at Lake Constance, which boasts 27Km of stunning beaches. The mountain beach at Gaschurn is home to two giant chemical free eco swimming pools located 800m above sea level, truly spectacular.
 
Winter Activities
Austria does come into its own during the winter months. From the picturesque Christmas markets in Salzurg and Vienna to the lively après ski nightlife at an abundance of top ski resorts; winter in Austria is an exciting experience. Evenings do not mean an end to the sports with floodlit ski areas at Kitzbuhel and moonlight ice skating on Lake Schwarzsee.
 
Golf
The Alpine mountains and lakes are an unbeatable setting for some of Europe’s finest golf courses. Austria is home to 140 golf courses including the world famous Golf Club Millstattersee, which has been home to the Austrian Open. The Radstadt Golf Club is located in the Tauern mountains and provides a stunning panorama that cannot be beaten.
