Gammarth Weather
Weather In Gammarth
Gammarth holidays will enjoy a southern Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers and mild winters. Most of the area’s rainfall is in winter and there is very little rain at all during the summer months (a mere 3 mm for the whole of July). With 11-12 hours of sunshine each day from June to August, Gammarth, lying on a 12-mile stretch of golden sand, is an ideal destination for a summer sun holiday for those who like the heat. For anyone who might find temperatures in excess of 30º a little too much, spring and autumn is a fine time to visit with beaches less crowded and still plenty of sun.
Gammarth Weather – Perfect for beach holidays and more
Although temperatures often tend to hit 32ºC or more in July and August, a sea breeze does tend to keep things comfortable and this coastline does look glorious when bathed in bright sunlight or Mediterranean sunsets. The average sea temperature is a very warm 26ºC in August and it’s easy to see why this area attracts so many summer visitors. Summer is not recommended for travelling into the Sahara as temperatures further south will be extremely hot at this time of year. However, for anyone looking for a break from the hot sun, the mountain villages of the north, such as Ain Draham, will be cooler and shaded.
Weather In Gammarth – Warm springs and autumns for a sunny getaway
Winter in Gammarth is not really suitable for a beach holiday, although it’s never cold with average temperatures reaching still 16ºC, so it can be a good time to see some sun and explore without the crowds. Spring and autumn here can be idyllic and the temperatures are more comfortable for activities such as golf, tennis or even just wandering around the local towns. Choosing between spring and autumn can be difficult. Springs may be cooler, the average high in April is 23ºC compared to 30ºC and 25ºC in September and October, and the sea will not have had a chance to warm up, but the flowers will be in bloom, the resorts will look magnificent and there will still be 8 hours of sunshine each day.
