The souks (markets) of Taroudant offer a wealth of unique goods and fantastic bargains, and this charming town is well known for its local Berber crafts. Shopping and haggling in the market, stalls and workshops here is an experience not to be missed and, with three main shopping areas, there's bound to be something for everyone. Favourite souvenirs and gifts from Taroudant include jewellery, carpets, pottery, leather and metalware.

Exploring the town
The compact town is easily explored on foot, and is a delight to discover. Take a walking tour, guided or unguided, and enjoy the sights of the well-preserved walls, the old town with its elegant architecture, the Kasbah and the colourful markets and streets. Other popular ways to tour the town include bike rental and horse-drawn carriage rides - especially at sunset. Donkey rides are also available.
