Beaches
Pristine white sands, palm trees and sparkling seas provide the backdrop for relaxed sunbathing in Watamu in a very natural setting, with windsurfing and water-skiing available for more energetic guests.
 
Scuba Diving & Snorkelling
Known for its excellent diving conditions, the offshore coral reefs boasts stunning underwater scenes, with the 10km long Marine National Park home to an amazing array of colourful marine life and numerous recommended dive sites.
 
Boat Trips
Rides along the coast of Kenya include trips to view the Marine Park and its mangrove forests, snorkelling safaris, sunset cruises and deep-sea fishing trips, with sailing available at the resort.
 
Nature
As well as the stunning Marine National Park, the area is rich in natural beauty, with the Arabuko Sokoke Forest close by, home to over 250 species of birds and butterflies in its coastal woodlands, and particularly good bird-watching in the area of Mida Creek in the forest. Locally-based and managed marine turtle protection projects have been set up in Watamu, with the creatures laying their eggs on the beaches here between January to April.
 
Shopping
The old village has a number of souvenir stalls, and bargains to be had include local handicrafts such as wooden carvings, beadwork, batik sarongs and artwork. 
 
Day Trips
The local Swaheli ruins at Gedi, which date back to the 12th century, and the Bio Ken Snake Farm are popular local attractions, whilst the more commercial and lively Malindi Beach lies about 25 km away, and offers shopping, dining and nightlife, and even the chance for a round of golf.
