Kilifi Things To Do

Beaches
Kilifi Beach known locally as Bofa Beach boasts a seemingly never ending beautiful stretch of unspoilt white sand. Kilifi Beach is an idyllic treasure on the Kenyan coastline and is the perfect sun-drenched spot to lounge on the sand, swim and scuba dive in the Indian Ocean or simply watch the spectacular sunsets as the evening draws in.

Water Sports
The all year round hot climate means that water sports such as surfing, big game fishing, sailing, snorkelling and water-skiing in Kilifi Creek are all very popular. Scuba diving in Kilifi is another popular pastime thanks to the immense coral reef and the 20 metre deep Vuma Caves in Kilifi Creek. Look out for the dolphins that can usually be seen swimming near the entrance to the caves.

Sightseeing Attractions
Sightseeing attractions in Kilifi can include the ancient ruins of Mnarani, a set of tombs and mosques that date back to the 14th century. A trip to Kilifi would not be complete without a game park safari and a tour round the Tsavo Safari Park can include an overnight stay to get that real taste of Africa. Other national parks can include the Watamu Marine National Park and the Lost City of Gede.

Golf
For holiday makers who want to try golfing in Kilifi there are two first class 18-hole golf courses just south of Kilifi at the town of Vipingo. The town also boasts its own spectacular beach and the amazing Kirawitu Marine Park reef.

Visit Mombasa
A day trip to the vibrant city of Mombasa from Kilifi can easily be arranged. Mobasa boasts colourful bazaars, first class restaurants, unspoilt beaches, shopping opportunities in the Old Town, and numerous nightlife options including bars and discos. Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya and a few days could easily be spent exploring this exciting holiday destination.
