Beaches
Holiday makers are guaranteed to fall in love with Gambia’s sun bleached Atlantic coast and the beach at Kololi is a wide swath of golden sand. Kololi’s coastline provides numerous excellent beaches with an abundance of water sports and plenty of nearby restaurants and bars.
Sightseeing
For holiday makers who can escape the beach there are a number of sightseeing attractions in Kololi. The Bijilo Forest Park is a nature reserve with some amazing wildlife including the very friendly vervet monkeys. Boat trips to James Island should be included and a trip to the ruined fort dating back to the 16th century is a step back in time. Banjul, the capital of Gambia, is worth a visit for the colourful markets alone.
Eating Out
Hotels here will provide first class international and European dishes but the local beach bars and small restaurants do have the freshest seafood and fish options available. Kololi restaurants have something for everyone whether it is a pizza or a delicious Thai curry.
Nightlife
The nightlife options in Koloki are mostly centred around the Senegambia Strip, which has a number of late night bars with small dance floors. Locals and holiday makers gather in the clubs and bars in this area to drink and dance the night away. Afro, reggae and hip hop is the music of choice; the music will be loud and the people are always friendly.
Water Sports
The Atlantic coastline is a prime spot for numerous water sports. Diving is popular in Kololi and many holiday makers choose to visit this area simply for the diving conditions and facilities. Other water sports include wind-surfing, water-skiing and surfing. Sailing provides the opportunity to view the coastline from a yacht deck and is a memorable experience especially as the sun begins to set.
