Things To Do
Beaches
A haven for relaxation, thanks to the glorious Egyptian sunshine, white sands fringed by palm trees, and the azure-blue warm waters of the Red Sea, the beaches at Makadi Bay offer a wonderful base in which to play, swim or dive on beach holidays here.
Scuba-Diving
The resort's location in a protected bay makes it a great place in which to learn to scuba-dive, and there are a number of centres offering tuition, courses and equipment. The stunning offshore coral reefs are home to an excellent choice of dive sites for all levels, in particular, Gotar Abu Ramada (known as 'the Aquarium') and Ras Abu Soma, as well as the Marine Park and Giftun Island.
Snorkelling
Even non-divers can appreciate the spectacular underwater world of the Red Sea, with excellent conditions for offshore snorkelling at Makadi Bay, as well as excursions out to deeper waters, and glass-bottomed boat trips, which can show passengers the beauty of the seabed, from the comfort of their seats. Great for family holidays in Egypt.
Water Sports
There's plenty of opportunity for other activities at the beach, with Makadi Bay seeing coastal breezes ideal for water sports such as windsurfing, waterskiing, pedalos, sailing and kayaking.
Sports
Other sports to enjoy include swimming, tennis, volleyball, minigolf, table-tennis and the use of various gyms and fitness centres. There's also bike rental, horse riding and quad bike tours - a great way to get out and explore the area on activity holidays in Egypt.
Sightseeing
Makadi Bay is ideally placed to tour the Red Sea Riviera, with popular resorts such as Hurghada, El Gouna and Sharm el Sheikh all within reach. Visitors can also head off on a desert safari excursion, to experience a traditional Bedouin village and an authentic dinner under the stars, as well as make the journey to Luxor to discover the city's famous ancient attractions.
