Acuario Sol II, Puerto Del Carmen

The 2-star Acuario Sol II is one of two sister hotels that make up the Acuario Sol complex, the other being the Acuario Sol I. Guests at the complex can use the facilities at either hotel. The Acuario Sol has a decidedly tropical feel, with gleaming white-washed buildings dotted here and there with palm trees, light and airy rooms with clean, white interiors and a convenient location close to the beach. The complex has 3 pools (2 found at the Sol II), with a pleasant pool bar providing food and drinks. Rooms are fitted with self-catering facilities, ideal for those looking to save money on their holiday. The quiet location of the hotel primarily attracts couples and families.

 

The complex boasts a fantastic location, around 10 minutes’ walk to Puerto del Carmen beach (650m away) and about the same distance to the tourist area of Playa de los Pocillos. For those opting to self-cater, the nearest supermarket is 50m from the hotel. The lively resort centre of Puerto del Carmen is about 1.7km away. Puerto del Carmen is Lanzarote’s main holiday resort. The buzzing nightlife of The Strip runs parallel to the sweeping, 3km long Puerto del Carmen beach, where visitors will find a huge range of shops, bars and nightclubs. Alternatively, the resort’s Old Town has retained some of its original fishing village charm, with cobbled streets, cafes and tavernas. A variety of activities can be arranged from here, including scuba diving, boat trips, excursions to Timanfaya National Park, golf, watersports and more.

 

Accommodation at the Acuario Sol II consists of 81 bright and airy apartments. All rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. One bedroom apartments sleeping up to 3 adults have a living area with sofa bed and separate twin bedroom. Two bedroom apartments sleeping up to 5 adults have a living area with sofa bed and two separate twin bedrooms. All rooms come with kitchenette with 2 cooking rings, fridge and kettle, satellite TV, safety deposit box, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace.

 

The complex provides basic but adequate facilities for an affordable holiday in Lanzarote. Guests here can choose between 3 pools, with a smaller, quieter pool at Acuario Sol I and larger pool at Acuario Sol II, along with a kid’s pool. The Acuario Sol II also has a poolside bar serving snacks and refreshments for those lounging around on the sun terraces, as well as doubling as the hotel’s restaurant. The Acuario Sol I has a roof-top terrace for naturists. There is also an on-site mini market and a reception area at the Acuario Sol I (not open 24 hours).

 

Board: Guests can opt to make their own meals using the self-catering facilities provided in rooms. Bed and breakfast and half board options are available, with meals to be taken at the hotel’s pool bar/restaurant. There is also a wide selection of local restaurants nearby.

Children: There is a children’s pool. Child prices are available up to the age of 16.
