Climate on Zante - High summer temperatures, cooling winds
Spring sees the temperatures begin to rise, with highs ranging from 14C - 19C during April and reaching between 18C - 20C in May, the beginning of the summer season. Evenings can get a little chilly, but the water is warm enough to swim in, and the conditions very pleasant. June sees average temperatures of 24C, rising to 26C in August, with July receiving up to 12 hours of sunshine every day. The temperatures in the height of summer sometimes reach the low 30C's, however Zante sees these hot months tempered by the cooling winds, the 'meltemi', that blow throughout Greece from the north.

Zante climate - Mild winters with plenty of rainfall
Autumn sees temperatures much like the spring, with an increase in the liklihood of rain. The sun still shines between 7 and 8 hours a day during October, with this month marking the end of the summer season. During November and December the temperatures fall to lows of between 14C and 16C, dropping to 11C in January.  Winter is the rainy season in Zante - December being the wettest month seeing almost 200mm falling - with the high level of rainfall throughout these low-season months helps to maintain the lush green landscape on the island.
