Xemxija Things To Do

There are numerous excellent unspoilt beaches in Xemxija. Holiday makers can choose from Golden Bay and Ghajn Tuffieha, two adjacent sandy beaches that are popular during the summer months. Paradise Bay is one of the most picaresque beaches in Malta and boasts a sandy beach and magnificent views. Other beaches can include Bugibba, Qawra and Ghadira.

 

There is a good selection of restaurants, bars and cafes in Xemxija serving international or traditional Maltese dishes. Fresh seafood and fish dishes are a speciality in the area and for a wider selection of dining options take the 10 minute drive to Bugibba, Mellieha or Qawra.

Water sports in Xemxija are a popular activity as you would expect from a Mediterranean island with a fantastic year round hot climate. Windsurfing, jet-skiing, sailing and diving are all available in Xemxija. Diving conditions in Xemxija are good at any time of the year. Underwater visibility is excellent, and dive sites can include wreck, reefs and caves.

 

Daytrips from Xemxija can include St Paul’s Bay, a town that is steeped in history and scenic beauty and is also home to some of Malta’s finest restaurants. Bugibba is worth a visit to indulge in some of the island’s best nightlife and a flutter at the casino. Take a trip to Mellieha and you can sample the largest beach in Malta. The 20 minute ferry ride to the island of Gozo will reward holiday makers with one of the most unspoilt islands in the Mediterranean and some of the most spectacular dive sites.

Nightlife
There is a good selection of bars and nightclubs in Xemxija where holiday makers can either dance the night away or sip a cool drink watching the sun set over the bay. For a more vibrant night out take the short journey to Bugibba where the nightlife doesn’t get going until around midnight.
