White Sands Resort Weather
White Sands Resort Weather – Sunshine all year round
White Sands Resort is in the South Ari Atoll, one of 22 atolls and around 1200 tiny islands that make up the Maldives. Lying just north of the equator, White Sands Resort has the weather you would expect of a tropical paradise in the Indian Ocean. There is plenty of sun, with gentle breezes disturbing the palm trees, as well as humidity and tropical showers, but with a beauty that photographs don’t quite prepare you for. Temperatures are extremely consistent all year round, April being the hottest month at 32°C, with high humidity, while average daily temperatures reach a steady 30° from June to January.
Weather in White Sands Resort – A tropical paradise with plenty of sun
There are two monsoon seasons: the south-west monsoon from May to October brings rain, especially at night, while the north-west monsoon from November to April brings drier weather with little wind. Most experts will probably tell you that the best time to visit is January to March, when there’s least rain, although surfers may prefer April to October and divers hoping to see manta rays and whale sharks might choose April to June. However, this is a perfect location for enjoying the sea at any time. The turquoise water is crystal clear, and the warmth is as consistent as the air temperature, rising from 28° in October to 30° in April and May.
White Sands Weather – Warm evenings and romantic sunsets
White Sands enjoys a daily average of 7 hours of sunshine, however, even in the rainy season, rising to 9 hours in February and March. The warm weather carries on into the night with average temperatures not falling below 25ºC, so visitors will appreciate the resort’s air conditioning. The warm evenings are perfect for enjoying a quiet cocktail and a glorious sunset, and the continuous sea breezes help keep the humidity bearable. It can be very wet in the rainy season, with rain falling most days, but showers usually last only an hour or so, while warm weather is guaranteed all year.
