Weather in Watamu - Subtropical climate on Kenya's east coast
Located on the east coast of Kenya, the resort of Watamu experiences a subtropical climate, ideal for a relaxing beach holiday. The peak tourist season in Watamu runs from December to March, with April to September seeing the south-eastern monsoon hit the area, bringing increased rainfall.
 
Watamu Weather - Hot and sunny during our British winters
Temperatures do not fluctuate that dramatically during the year, however, Watamu does sees a marked variation in rainfall throughout the seasons. The British winter is the best time to visit, when the average temperature is a steady 31C from November to April, and the resort sees a constant 9 hours of sunshine each day. December to March experiences the driest weather, with between 10mm - 40mm of rain falling each month. Conditions for scuba-diving and snorkelling are ideal from January to March, when the waters are warm and very clear.  
 
Weather in Watamu - Wetter summers, lower humidity
Watamu sees more rain falling in the spring, with May being the wettest month, when the resort sees almost 300mm of rain. Temperatures are still high hovering around 29C and the resort continues to experience 7 hours of sunshine each day. The summer months of June to September see slightly lower temperatures of 27C - 28C, and reduced levels of humidity.
