Our Lady of Assumption Church
This fantastic church was built way back in the 1500s in typically simple, elegant Catalan Gothic style, one of three Alicante fortress churches.

Village of Joy!
Villajoyosa transates as ‘village of joy’! The town’s houses are all painted in vivid, exotic colours, originally to help fishermen navigate their way into the port. The town’s medieval centre, the Old Town, is beautifully preserved and conserved and a stroll around there will give you a glimpse into typical Catalan life.

 

Visit Guadalest
Historic Guaualest is an hour or so away by car, home to the famous monastery as well as shops where you can buy local arts and crafts, and totally fantastic sea views. 

Choose from at least 20 Golf Courses
Alicante is famous for golf and Villajoyosa is no exception. You’ll find more than twenty golf courses in the surrounding area! The closest? Try your hand on the wonderful golf courses at Altea, Albir or Muchamiel.

Busy, lively Alicante and Benidorm
Villajoiosa offers very easy access to nearby super-resorts Alicante (19 miles away) and Benidorm (3 miles away), each giving plenty of opportunities for shopping, eating out, night clubbing and all you’d expect from a couple of top resorts.

 

There are more theme parks that you can shake a stick at in this area of Spain. Close by Villajoyosa you’ll find the massive Terramitica theme park and the Aqualandia Water Park. Venture further from Villajoyosa and you’ll find more. There’s even a zoo at Villajoyosa, the Safari Aitana.

 

All along this coastline you’ll discover fully serviced beaches, all sandy with guaranteed clean sea. Try Playa Centro and Playa el Parais, both of which are nearby and a delight to lounge on for the day, the week or fortnight.

 

Go on… eat chocolate!
This region is famous for chocolate… we bet you didn’t know that! Sample the local chocoholic’s heaven in the town’s several specialist chocolate shops, or head for a mouth watering afternoon’s entertainment at the local Chocolate Museum.
