Our Review of the Veneto Region...
Venice needs no introduction. This captivating city simply has to be seen. The Grand Canal, the Bridge of Sighs, the Rialto, St Mark’s Square and the Basilica di San Marco are just some of the highlights of a city that is fascinating and awe-inspiring at the turn of every corner. Visit unforgettable galleries, museums and churches, and simply soak up the atmosphere. Unfortunately, Venice tends to overshadow the considerable charms of the Veneto region, which like so many regions of Italy offers all the ingredients for a richly rewarding holiday: beautiful, historic cities like Verona, Treviso and Padua, charming atmospheric hilltop towns and castles, gorgeous fertile countryside, world-class vineyards in the glorious Valpolicella valley, majestic mountains, lagoon  islands like Murano, Burano and Torcella, and classic Italian beach resorts on the Venetian Riviera like Lido di Jesolo. Superb walking and watersports at Lake Garda, skiing in Cortina d'Amprezzo in the Dolomites, and fantastic regional cuisine just about everywhere. A joy for lovers of Renaissance art, architecture, scenic countryside, fine wine and good living.

Customer Reviews of Venice...

“Lido di Jesolo turned out to be one of our best ever family holidays. We really enjoyed how Italian it felt and the whole family buzz about the resort. Lots to do. Venice of course but also lots for the children and a really good atmosphere in the evenings. After years in Spain is was refreshing to go somewhere so different.”
Mrs H Thompson, Leicester UK

“I tend to deliberately avoid the tourist hotspots of the world but I have to say that you must see Venice no matter what. I would strongly recommend the winter. Take a warm coat, wander the streets and warm up with a shot of high-octane hot chocolate. Far less tourists and so atmospheric at night too. This city really is unique.”
Mr B O’Flanagan, Belfast UK

“I would say four days in Venice and a good week to tour Veneto. Verona and Padua are really lovely. The restaurants in Venice are obviously for the tourists but get out to Treviso and the countryside and there are lots of authentic typical Italian places. The vineyards are well worth stopping at too.”
