Venetian Riviera Weather
Venetian Riviera Weather - Long warm summers
Venice's location in the North of Italy means it doesn't experience the same intense heat levels as Southern Italy but it still enjoys long, pleasantly hot summers ensuring you can make the most of your beach holiday. If you can tear yourself away from the sand and surf, Venice can offer a welcome break from the sun with its cool, shaded streets and piazzas where it is easy to spend a few hours sipping a cappuccino or a cold drink. The endless attractions of Venice mean that a Venetian Riviera holiday can be enjoyed year round and while wintertime can be very cold this can be the perfect time of year for visiting the museums and churches of this famous city.
Weather in the Venetian Riviera - Fantastic in July and August
The beach is the place to be in summer and the Venetian Riviera has miles of sand to enjoy. Staying near the water is a sensible option in July and August when the temperature averages 27 degrees and with around 9 hours of sunshine, you will have plenty of time to make the most of the activities on offer such as windsurfing, snorkelling or sailing. When the sun goes down an average temperature of 18 degrees makes for very pleasant evenings and keep people outside to eat, drink or take a romantic stroll along the seafront. Rainfall is fairly consistent year round on the Venetian Riviera but generally wet days are few and far between in the summer months.
Venetian Riviera Weather - Pleasant in spring and autumn
Although summer is the perfect time for a beach holiday, the weather remains excellent on either side of the high season. Temperatures averaging 22 degrees in May decreasing to as little as 19 degrees in as late as October makes the Venetian Riviera an attractive proposition for beach lovers in the quieter months. Around 7 hours of sunshine means there is plenty of time to enjoy the beach. Of course, Venice is a year round destination and with the city on your doorstep, the winter months should not be discounted. Tucked away in a backstreet café with a cup of hot chocolate, the most romantic city in the world offers plenty of chances to hide from the cold and regardless of the weather, Venice always looks stunning.
