The complex is very centrally located, situated on the Protaras’ main street, with a good selection of bars, shops and restaurants a stone’s throw away. While not the most scenic of resorts on the island, Protaras more than makes up for this with the renowned Fig Tree Bay - just 5 minutes’ walk from the Vangelis Apartments – which is arguably the best beach on the island. Protaras itself is a more family-friendly version of the bigger and more boisterous Ayia Napa. Popular excursions in the area include hiking up to Ayios Ilias Church on the outskirts of the town, from where there is a fabulous view, and travelling to nearby Ayia Napa to enjoy the 2 waterparks there.

 

Accommodation at the Vangelis Apartments consists of 166 apartments set across 4 blocks over 4 floors. Room are large and comfortable. Studios sleep up to 3 adults and come with lounge area with twin beds and a sofa bed. One bedroom apartments sleep up to 4 adults and have a twin bedroom plus sofa beds in the lounge area. Sea view rooms can be booked at a supplement. All rooms come with a kitchenette with 2 cooking rings, mini oven, fridge, kettle and toaster, air-conditioning, TV, full bathroom with WC and balcony or terrace. A maid service operates 5 times a week.

 

There is a good selection of facilities at the complex, starting with the expansive sun terrace area and large, curvy swimming pool. The resort also has a small indoor swimming pool. A poolside snack bar serves drinks and snacks to those enjoying the sun on the terraces, and a cocktail lounge bar makes a great spot to relax in the evenings. The hotel’s Orange Grove Restaurant serves international and local dishes throughout the day and puts on themed evenings, with dishes ranging from BBQ to Mediterranean to Oriental and more. Active guests can make use of the on-site tennis court and gym, and afterwards relax in the sauna and steam bath. The hotel animation team puts on entertainment throughout the day and into the evening, with quizzes, bingo, live music and shows. Other useful facilities include a 24-hour reception, currency exchange, laundry service and TV lounge.
