Tulum Things To Do
Ruins
The ruins at Tulum are fairly small and easy to explore, and benefit from the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean Sea. There are guided tours around the site, with the main features being El Castillo, The Temple of the Frescoes and The Temple of the Descending God. The best time to visit is early-morning or right before it closes - to beat both the heat and the crowds.
Beach
This section of the beaches on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico is simply stunning, and the ideal place for quiet sunbathing, swimming and general relaxation. Beach-front hotels offer convenient and often luxurious accommodation in Tulum.
Scuba Diving
Known for its diversity, Tulum holidays are excellent spot for scuba-diving. The offshore coral reef is the second longest in the world and home to a dazzling array of marine-life, whilst diving in the fresh-water cenotes and underwater caves that lie inland is truly memorable.
Water Sports
In addition to diving, visitors can enjoy snorkelling, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and kite boarding in Tulum. There are also fishing trips available.
Sports & Leisure
Venture out and explore the area on horseback or by mountain bike, or stay close to home and enjoy the hotel facilities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, table-tennis, gyms and fitness centres, beach trampolines, a climbing wall and activities such as dance lessons, shuffleboard and beach parties. Golf can be played in Playa del Carmen.
Spa
The ideal place to rejuvenate mind, body and soul, Tulum has a number of spas, offering everything from relaxing beach massages and natural remedies, to yoga and meditation sessions.
