Holidays in Trianda – Leisurely beach resort and traditional village
Trianda is on the far north coast of Rhodes, just 6 miles south-west of Rhodes Town, 2 miles from the resort of Ixia and 4 miles from the airport. Trianda holidays offer a popular beach resort with excellent watersports combined with the quiet pleasures of the typical charming Rhodes village of Trianda found half a mile inland from the coast resort. Running along the length Trianda as far as neighbouring Kremasti is a good shingle and pebble beach with beautiful clean water safe for swimming. Trianda beach offers above average watersports facilities including tuition and a windsurfing club. The welcome breezes and low waves here make both windsurfing and sailing very popular Trianda holiday activities. There are five windsurfing stations along the beach. Simple tavernas and bars offer some beach side refreshment. Trianda holiday nightlife revolves around a good selection of restaurants and a modest selection of bars and clubs. Plenty of action and more choice can be found at Rhodes Town.
Trianda holidays – Relax in an old village taverna
The beach resort is a ten minute walk from the old village. The village of Trianda is built on the site of the ancient town of Ialyssos and is sometimes known by this name. Trianda village retains plenty of traditional Greek atmosphere and architecture, a fine church, a Byzantine monastery and ancient ruins with fantastic views. Trianda village is surrounded by hills, olive groves, citrus plantations and attractive little fields. It is a fine place to mix with the locals and get a taste of uncommercial Rhodes village life while sitting in the village centre tavernas.
Trianda – Good location for historic Rhodes Town and beach resorts
Trianda holidays could include a visit to neighbouring Kremasti, a pretty village with a striking church, a typically atmospheric and bustling traditional tree-lined village square, and a good beach. You can also visit Pastida, a tiny village slightly inland from the coast with its typical square, fine buildings and traditional cafes. Trianda holidays are not complete without at least one visit to vibrant and historic Rhodes Town which offers good shopping, a huge selection of restaurants and bars and plenty of lively nightlife. The extraordinary Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Regular buses run along the coast to Rhodes Town. Other popular Trianda holiday excursions include the famous picturesque village of Lindos, boat trips to the island of Symi and Faliraki waterpark.
