Weather in Tobago - Sunny skies all year round
Tobago weather is typical of the Caribbean with minimal variation year round and stable high temperatures with cloudless blue skies. With a tropical climate tempered by incoming trade winds, the heat is rarely too stifling, averaging at 28c throughout the year. Although there is a distinct dry and wet season in Tobago, rain can occur at any time but generally falls in brief heavy spells before the sunshine returns. The rainy season lasts from June - December which is a quiet period for Tobago tourism and the countryside becomes lush and full of colour with abundant plant life.

Tobago Weather - A fine summer climate
Summers in Tobago are hot and sunny with temperatures hovering around 29c enjoying 8 hours of unbroken sunshine each day. Nights are fresh and comfortable with cool winds and light rain can occur with temperatures pleasant at 18c. During the summer rainy season, temperatures continue to remain constant and rain can be heavy at times but is usually brief and is unlikely to impact considerably on a two week holiday. It is rare to see prolonged showers over consecutive days and the average annual rainfall of 200mm is spread evenly across the island.

The winter months are peak season for Tobago tourism and see dry hot weather and long periods of cloudless blue skies. January through to May receives little rainfall and temperatures at 29c consistently. Pleasant breezes continue through these months keeping the heat manageable and energetic pursuits can be enjoyed without too much discomfort. Humidity is relatively low in coastal areas and up to 9 hours of daily sunshine can be enjoyed. The fine winter weather and stability of its climate is what attracts so many visitors to Tobago and makes an idyllic alternative to a grey, wet winter at home.
