Tivat Things To Do
Beaches
The Tivat Riviera offers numerous beaches to visit, from sandy stretches lined with umbrellas and sun loungers, to pebble coves with sunbathing platforms, and secluded rocky inlets. Choose from the town beaches, Belane and Zupa, or head to the main tourist beach, Plavi Horizonti.
Water Sports
Waterskiing, windsurfing, canoeing and scuba diving are all available in Tivat, as are fishing trips and the resort and its surrounding areas are popular sailing centres.
Boat Trips
There are a number of boat trips and cruises departing from the city harbour, which head out along the coast to various islands including Flower Island, named for its rich flora and vegetation, the abandoned St Marco, and Our Lady of Grace Island with its monastery.
Sports
The town of Tivat is home to various sports and leisure facilities, with visitors able to enjoy swimming, tennis, basketball, football, bowling and lawn bowls.
Walking & Hiking
The Tivat countryside has a series of interconnecting paths, making walking a major pastime here. The mountains are home to a rich landscape of olive groves, pine forests and chestnut woods, and often blanketed by fragrant Mediterranean herbs, and there are a host of ancient villages and sleepy hamlets to pass through.
Cycling & Horse Riding
Mountain biking is also popular, and the trails and paths offer both leisurely cycles and challenging rides through the mountains and along the coast. Horse riding is also available, and the views across the bay can be spectacular, with the rural countryside offering ideal terrain to explore on horseback.
Day Trips
Sights to see in Tivat include the Botanical Gardens and the Renaissance Summer House at Buca. Excursions feature the medieval town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a charming day out with its old town, cobbled streets, and lively squares and markets. Visitors could also head to the local fishing villages of Bijelila and Kakrc, the historic town of Budva, or the city of Dubrovnik.
