Thomson Cruises will make a return to Caribbean holiday destinations in time for Christmas 2008 following an eight year absence. Thomson Destiny, the largest of Thomson’s cruise ships, is to sail from the Dominican Republic for seven nights, visiting a total of 10 islands each fortnight including Barbados, Antigua and St Lucia and St. Kitts.
Also, Thomson Spirit will take over from Thomson Celebration next winter after two seasons in the Red Sea. After a refurbishment next year, Thomson Celebration will operate around The Canaries, North Africa and Madeira. David Selby, programme director for Thomson Cruises, which carries approximately 170,000 passengers a year, said: "Thomson Destiny is our largest ship and the array of facilities and sun-deck space makes it the perfect ship for the operation. I think the 14-night cruises and cruise and stays will be particularly popular."
Thomson Holidays air fleet Thomsonfly will operate all flights which will offer premium upgrades for luxury travel. Flights will operate from Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff, Stansted and Bournemouth and will start on September 27th.
