Weather in Tavira - Plenty of sunshine on eastern Algarve
Tavira sits in the eastern Algarve on the south coast of Portugal, 30km east of Faro and 160km west of Seville in Spain. The coastal town enjoys a Mediterranean-like climate, with hot dry summers and plenty of sunshine throughout the year, and cool mild winters.
 
Tavira Weather - Pleasant spring days, hot dry summers
Spring sees pleasant weather in Tavira, ideal for walking and hiking in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, and exploring the historic town centre. Average temperatures in April and May are between 20C - 23C, and the days see up to 8 hours of sunshine. June heats up, with temperatures around 26C, and in general the summer see lovely hot dry weather in Tavira, with maximum temperatures in July and August reaching 30C, and up to 12 hours of sunshine. Water temperatures from June to September reach 19C - 21C, with ideal conditions for swimming and water sports. Rainfall is virtually non-existant during the summer, with July and August seeing just 2mm, and June and September receiving 18mm each month.
