Taba Heights is a quiet, family resort featuring some of the leading hotel groups, with hotels typically built in attractive, secluded settings, surrounded by lush gardens and pristine pools. Expect breath-taking views. The sparkling turquoise waters of the Red Sea serve as a stunning contrast to the awesome mountains and desert swathes of Sinai, immediately inland. The Red Sea is world-famous for its rich marine life, with excellent coral, turtles, dolphins and schools of incredibly colourful tropical fish. The area around Taba Heights is considered one of the best places in the world to learn to scuba dive, thanks to warm, sheltered waters, good visibility and the opportunity to practice at interesting, shallow dives. More advanced divers staying at Taba Heights will enjoy boat dives, often in places never visited before. Although the reefs are not particularly large or spectacular around Taba Heights, the varieties of fish and coral are impressive, and easily accessible. Taba Heights - take a Nile cruise or visit St Catherine’s
Many visitors to Egyptian beach resorts like Taba Heights include a once-in-a-lifetime trip down the River Nile in their holiday. A slow, relaxing cruise between Aswan in the south, and Luxor in central Egypt, for example, will allow you to experience some of the most spectacular ancient temples and monuments in the world. Alternatively, just 100km away on Mount Sinai, is St Catherine’s Monastery, and what is believed to be the biblical site of the Burning Bush. Egypt has a mild winter from November to April and a hot summer from May to October. In the coastal regions, temperatures range between an average minimum of 14° C in winter and an average maximum of 30° C in summer.
