Syros Weather - An excellent sunshine record
Enjoying 300 days of sunshine, weather in Syros provides stable warm conditions for most of the year. It possesses a typical southern Mediterranean climate that produces consistent hot and sunny weather from May to late September and mild and pleasant winters. Rain can occur at any time of the year but is rare at the height of summer and is generally restricted to the months of December to March. Easter time sees the island at its most colourful as temperatures start to rise and flowers bloom in full colour and this represents the ideal time to visit for many.

Hot, dry and clear blue skies are experienced throughout summer in Syros and several weeks may pass without any rain. Average temperatures can reach 30c during high summer but daily offshore winds between June and August help relieve the effects of stifling heat. These winds, which reach many islands in the Aegean Sea, can at times be very strong but die down to a pleasant calming breeze at nightfall. Visitors can expect to see up to 12 hours of sun each day. Mid September sees a cooling of air and sea temperatures and Syros weather is at its most pleasant with any strong winds abating and continuing warm and dry conditions. 

Syros Weather - Clear and bright winters
Winter days in Syros are much milder although pleasant sunny afternoons can still be enjoyed regularly. Temperatures drop to 10c between December and February with a 40% chance of rain. When showers do occur it is relatively light and more frequent than other parts of Greece and can be accompanied by thunder from time to time. It is very rare for the temperature to drop below freezing even on higher ground and in general winters receive a high proportion of clear and bright sunny days. Syros weather will see at least 4 hours of daily winter sunshine.
