Survey Reveals Many Brits Considering Autumn Breaks

Tuesday, 11 September 2007

cheap city breaksTripAdvisor have released the results of a survey which finds that 90% of Brits and 70% of all travellers surveyed are planning an autumn break this year.

A majority of those surveyed cited the poor British weather as the main reason to take an autumn break. Although more than half of respondents believe the greatest incentive to travel is because there are fewer tourists in autumn and reduced accommodation rates.

TripAdvisor have revealed that a quarter of those surveyed plan on taking a romantic city break, whilst 43% want sun, sea and sand, compared with 38% who plan on visiting destinations throughout the rest of the world.

The most popular destinations for European city breaks amongst British travellers proved to be traditional favourites such as London, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin and Dublin.
