Sunny Beach is aptly named as it enjoys around 300 sunny days a year. The long sunny days – 10-11 hours each day in summer - make this the perfect choice for anyone looking for a beach holiday with plenty to do and ideal weather to do it in. Summer evenings are ideal for sitting outside one of the many bars and taverns while early risers (or late-night clubbers) will be rewarded with the magnificent sight of sunrise over the Black Sea.

Sunny Beach weather - The name says it all
Sunny Beach enjoys a temperate climate with mild winters and warm summers that are not too hot. Temperatures rarely go far above 30°C, so the sea can be enjoyed without the scorching heat that is common in some other beach resorts. There tends to be a breeze from the afternoon onwards that helps cool things down and makes sailing and windsurfing pleasurable. The five-mile long beach slopes gently down into a sea that is 21°C to 23°C from July to September. Although the sea is not quite so warm outside these months the air temperature is 21°C in May, 22°C in October and 26°C in June and September, so sun lovers looking to avoid high season crowds and save money should be able to do so.

The summer season in Sunny Beach is long and there is not too much rain to worry about. Perhaps surprisingly, June is usually the wettest time of the year, but even then there are usually no more than three rainy days all month. The sunny days and warm, non-tidal sea make Sunny Beach popular with families and anyone looking for fun, but it is not so hot that visitors are put off exploring the many delights that the Black Sea coast has to offer.
