There is no shortage of beaches in Stari Grad and you can take your pick from the Laterna, Maslina and Banj beaches. There are also plenty of little coves and deserted beaches along the coastline so it will be easy to find your own stretch of deserted beach.
 
Cruises
Cruises from Stari Grad are the best way to view the Croatian coastline. Trips to Mljet, Jelsa and Split should definitely not be missed. Brac Island is worth a visit for the famous Golden Horn Beach alone. This is one of the most photographed beaches in the world so be sure to take your camera.
 
Restaurants
Stari Grad restaurants are full of traditional atmosphere and have a laid back quaint charm. Sit outside in the warm air and try the delicious Croatian dishes with some of the freshest seafood available. Try the restaurants by the harbour and you will not want to leave for hours as evening draws in and the locals start appearing.

As you would expect from an island with spectacular weather there is no shortage of water sports available in Stari Grad. Swimming, water-skiing, wind-surfing, and diving are all very popular on the island. There are numerous dive centres dotted along the coastline with lessons and excursions for both the beginner and the more experienced diver.
 
Sight Seeing
Sightseeing from Stari Grad should include the Dominican monastery dating back to 1482, and the Tvrdalj, a fortified castle with its 16th century tower and fish pond. A visit to Hvar Town is also worth the trip, especially if you want to sample some of the best nightlife on the island.

The nightlife in Stari Grad is a laid back quiet affair with most holiday-makers enjoying the restaurant atmosphere. Try the Bocce Clubhouse that offers reasonably priced drinks and has a good mix of locals and holiday makers.
