St. Florent lies on the north-west coast of Corsica, at the beginning of the Cap Corse peninsula, and 14km west of Bastia. The resort sits in the wide Gulf of St. Florent and attracts visitors to its long beaches and scenic countryside, who come to enjoy the typically-Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and mild winters. St. Florent experiences a long beach season, running from May to October, with plenty of warm days filled with an abundance of sunshine.

The climate in summer is ideal for relaxing on the beaches around St. Florent with the beginning of the season seeing average temperatures of 17C, rising to 21C in June, and the sun shining for an average of 9 hours each day. July and August get hotter, reaching up to 25C, and see 10 hours of sun daily, with coastal breezes helping to keep conditions comfortable. The sea temperature ranges from 22C - 24C during the summer - perfect for swimming, water sports and sailing, and with night time averages of around 16C - 18C, the evenings can be filled with al fresco dinners in the waterfront bars and restaurants, and evening strolls. Spring and autumn see perfect conditions for the many scenic walks and hikes that the island is well-known for, with temperatures around 14C - 18C and the area seeing a pleasant 6 hours of sun each day. At this time the valley and hills around St. Florent are in bloom and alive with colour, and the cooler weather means visitors can explore this part of northern Corsica in relative comfort.

Winters see mild weather, with the coldest months of January and December seeing lows of 10C, and an average of 4 hours of sunshine each day. Located on the Cap Corse, the resort can see strong winds, especially the tramontana, a cold dry wind which blows from the north east during the winter.
