Barbados holidays in St Lawrence - lively, action-packed beach resort in Barbados
St Lawrence or ‘St Lawrence Gap’ as it’s known, is the liveliest and most colourful beach resort and night spot on the island of Barbados. The ‘gap’ name is a reference to the resort’s position at a break along the coastal road. St Lawrence is situated on in the south coast of the island within the parish of Christ Church. It suits tourists and family groups on holiday in Barbados, because it is within easy reach of the capital Bridgetown to the west, and Grantley Adams International Airport to the east, both about 15 km away. It offers accommodation, fantastic entertainment and a great beach in one self-contained, friendly, cosmopolitan area. An excellent choice for people looking for Caribbean holidays.

St Lawrence - hotels, bars, great food, live music and beach
St Lawrence is a resort bursting with character and life, with the action clustered along a strip of coastal road on the picturesque southern point of Barbados. It’s bustling with every type of accommodation, top notch restaurants sit alongside rum shops and ramshackle bars, and in the midst of it all is a pretty old Anglican church - typical of those found across the island. St Lawrence may be a little noisy for young families.
St. Lawrence beach itself is a beautiful sandy stretch with generally calm waters.
Thanks to the areas abundance of shallow water reefs and limestone rock erosions, St Lawrence and the surrounding shoreline make a great place for swimming, snorkelling, observing the sea life and hunting for sea shells. Many visitors enjoy boogie boarding or bodysurfing here too.

St Lawrence Caribbean holidays - restaurants serving Bajan fried fish to Irish stew
At St Lawrence Gap virtually every type of international cuisine is on the menu. The national dish of Barbados is fried flying fish and this thriving beach-side spot is the ideal place to try it. There are a number of restaurants and cafes to visit while on your holidays, serving Mexican, Irish, Jamaican, English, Italian and Thai food. The mix of music on offer is equally rich. You’re likely to hear reggae, rock, calypso and cajun sounds on your Barbados holiday and there’s always the chance of catching a live band in action.
