The sandy beach at St. Georges Bay is the only one in the area, and is obviously extremely popular with both tourists and locals alike. Recently completed, the extended beach now offers a small but well-maintained stretch of imported golden sand, and serves those staying in the surrounding areas, including both St. Julians and Sliema. The beach is great for children, and is a popular spot for snorkelling. Along the coastline, there are plenty of typical rocky beaches to swim off, and platforms to sunbathe on, with the numerous beach lidos offering convenient facilities. St. Georges Bay is home to a good choice of hotels, overlooking the Mediterranean and offering panoramic views across to Gozo.

With numerous waterfront cafes and bars, and a wealth of fantastic restaurants to choose from, there’s plenty of choice in the evening, and with Paceville on the hill beside St. Georges Bay, the clubs, discos, piano bars and casino are within easy reach. Other entertainment found in the area includes an IMAX cinema showing 3-D movies, and a bowling alley. Baystreet Shopping Centre in St. Georges Bay offers lots of choice, and nearby Sliema is home to some familiar high street names and upscale boutiques. Children will enjoy the marine park, Mediterraneo, and the Water Park in St. Julians, with the Bronze Age Village, just north of St. Georges Bay, an interesting excursion.
