Wildlife Safari
Experience the rich diversity of wildlife and nature in Sri Lanka with an enjoyable half day jeep safari at many national parks and wildlife reserves. A wide variety of animals can be seen up close such as the world's largest population of leopards, elephants, monkeys and bears. Natural habitats range from grassy open plains, jungle and wetlands and offer unmissable photo opportunities.

Beaches
Sri Lanka's beaches are famed for their beauty with long stretches of perfect white sand that are ideal for water sports and sunbathing. Attractive bays are located virtually all the way around this large island and many within easy reach of the main tourist centres, yet remain untouched by development and often deserted. Popular spots include Trimcomalee, a lovely expansive tropical beach setting which also has a pretty natural harbour.

Festivals and Celebrations
With cultural and religious traditions dating back many centuries, Sri Lanka holds a rich and varied program of festivities throughout the year. Visitors can witness colourful processions, village rituals and sacred Buddhist and Hindu events. Many commemorate myths and legends and are often accompanied by days of wild celebration, dancing and even elephant racing.

Cycling
Bicycle tours are easily arranged from the main beach resorts and offer rewarding views of the Sri Lanka countryside. Taking in mountains, tropical rainforests, temples and villages, a cycling tour is an ideal introduction to the island's diverse wildlife and ecology. Operating all year round, guided cycling can be combined with camping, trekking and canoeing activities for lovers of the great outdoors.

Snorkelling
The turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean provide calm seas and high underwater visibility allowing for wonderful snorkelling opportunities. Fish life is abundant with many rare and colourful species and the coral gardens surrounding the island are in excellent condition. Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa are two of the best spots and also offer a range of other beachside activities and entertainment.

Historic Sights
There are no fewer than 7 world heritage sights in Sri Lanka and the island is blessed with an abundance of ancient monuments and buildings. Royal sacred cities, palaces, temples and forts dating back many centuries are available to explore and offer a glimpse into a unique civilisation. The Cave Temples of Dambulla and the mountaintop palace of Sigiriya are perfect examples of awe inspiring sights of interest.
