Sozopol Weather – Hot summers and fairly dry all year round
The weather conditions in Sozopol span a wide range from a hot and sunny 28C to freezing cold, seldom climbing above minus two. June, July, August and September are the hottest months, not unlike here. In July you’ll experience daytime temperatures averaging a lovely 25C. July heats up to 28C, the hottest month. August averages 27C and September 24C. In July and August the sea heats up to a wonderful 24C, perfect for comfortable swimming. Average sunshine in Sozopol during summer is high, with around ten hours daily in July and August.
Weather in Sozopol – a couple of inches of rain a month all year round
The weather in Sozopol is remarkably stable as far as rainfall is concerned. Unlike many holiday destinations, you’ll experience roughly the same low amount of rain every month, rising slightly in December and January. No matter what time of year you visit, you’ll rarely get more than a couple of inches of rain a month, spread over seven to nine days. Predictable rainfall… what a joy! Summer holidays in Sozopol can deliver some humidity, with August the most humid month.
Winter weather in Sozopol – Very cold winters
The winter weather in Sozopol can be very cold, averaging 5C to 8C in the coldest months December to February. January nights are the coldest, averaging just minus 2C, but they can fall a lot lower! There’s a good chance of frost from the beginning of November right through to April. While winter temperatures in Sozopol can be chilly, you get a surprising amount of average daily sunshine all the same. Even in winter, the sun shines for three or four hours a day, which is much better than the UK’s grey cloud and gloom!
