Beaches
Beaches are a highlight of any holiday in the Dominican Republic and Sosua Beach will certainly not disappoint. The main 1Km golden stretch of sand was made for sun worshipping and water sports. There are a number of beaches in this area providing superb views out over the Atlantic Ocean. Sipping a cocktail or two as the sun sets will be an unforgettable experience.
Water Sports
As you would expect from a beach resort with a fantastic climate there is an abundance of water sports available in Sosua. Holiday makers can try their hand at windsurfing, jet-skiing and scuba diving. Island hopping by yacht or hired speed-boat is another way to enjoy an afternoon, and deep sea fishing is another exhilarating sport worth trying.
Sightseeing
A wealth of sightseeing attractions is easily accessible from Sosua. Nearby Puerto Plata provides the cable car ride to Mount Isabel de Torres and a jeep safari tour along the Amber Coast should not be missed. Stop off at Ocean World, an interactive marine park with sea lions, dolphins, and sharks. Hop aboard a 55ft Catamaran and skim the waves from Sosua Bay to Playa Dorada or play a round of golf at the famous Playa Grande golf course.

There is a huge selection of beach bars and restaurants in Sosua serving delicious traditional Dominican cuisine as well as international dishes. The meals are huge and sizzling steaks, seafood dishes and barbecue grills are always available, washed down with cold beers or the famous Dominican rum.
Nightlife
As the sun sets over the Atlantic Ocean the nightlife in Sosua and the nearby resort of Puerto Plata begins to heat up. Sosua’s main street is a vibrant mix of cocktail bars, sidewalk cafes and even British pubs. The atmosphere is laid back and the party on the beach can continue until dawn, if holiday makers can last that long.
