Weather in Sofitel Imperial Hotel - Tropical climate on west coast of Mauritius
The Sofitel Imperial Hotel sits just 5 minutes from the village of Flic-en-Flac, on the sheltered west coast of Mauritius. Like the rest of the island, the region experiences a hot tropical climate, with guests of the hotel enjoying plenty of year-round high temperatures and glorious sunshine, thanks to its idyllic Indian Ocean location.

Although the resort welcomes visitors all year round, the best time to visit is from May to September, when the humidity is at its most comfortable level, there is at least 7 hours of daily sunshine, and the island sees its driest weather. Temperatures during this time hover around 24C - 25C, and the summer months receive between 30mm - 50mm of rain each month. Humidity levels during July and August are the lowest of the year, and the night-time temperature remains a pleasant 16C.

December sees the average temperature rise to 29C, and the level of rainfall start to increase. January and February are the wettest months, receiving over 200mm of rain each, and the resort continues to see heavy rains until March, with the threat of cyclones, and high levels of humidity until May. December through to March sees the best conditions for scuba-diving, when the sea is at its clearest, and keen big-game fishermen see optimum time for the sport from October to April, when the fish come close to shore to feed.
