Sliema Weather

Sliema has been a favourite holiday destination for the British for many years thanks to the fantastic weather. Sliema has a very stable climate with high summer temperatures of 30C plus. Winter temperatures are also high at around 17C making this an all year round sunshine destination. The close proximity to Southern Italy and African means that you have the heat of Italy combined with the dryness of Africa. July until the end of September is the hottest season of the year and the heat can be quite intense during this period. Cooler temperatures with less humidity will be found in May, October and November with temperatures in Sliema hovering around the 24C mark.

 

Sliema is blessed with 12 hours of sunshine per day during the summer months and rain during this season is practically unheard of. From June through September the temperature in Sliema will not usually dip below 28C. As you would expect from a Mediterranean island the sea temperatures during the summer months are perfect for swimming, snorkelling and diving. The temperatures during spring and autumn are cooler and may be preferable for exploring the nearby capital of Valletta and the lively resort of St Julian’s. Evening temperatures will still be warm and perfect for dining in the garden restaurants and terrace bars.

 

Winters in Sliema are very mild and a holiday at this time of year will provide temperatures of around 17C with the sun shining down for around six hours per day. By April the temperature in Sliema once again heads to the 20C mark and hot dry winds will breeze in from Africa, raising the temperature further. Sliema is an all year round sunshine destination guaranteed not to disappoint whichever season you decide to visit.
