Skopelos Weather
Skopelos Weather - A lush and colourful island
Holidays in Skopelos will grant visitors a surprisingly lush and green landscape unique for many parts of Greece that still remains full of colour even in the height of summer. Weather in Skopelos receives ample rainfall during autumn and winter, often alternating with bright sunshine and mild temperatures. Summers are dry and hot with little precipitation where the months of July and August will be unfortunate to see any significant rainfall. Summer daytimes will see high temperatures and light sea breezes. For those who wish to explore its history or indulge in strenuous outdoor activities, the ideal time to visit would be May or October when the heat is less oppressive and rainfall is still minimal.
Weather in Skopelos - Fabulous record of summer sun
Spring is a short season which comes with the risk of showers, however all around is bright and colourful and air and sea temperatures begin to rise sharply. The changeable aspect of Skopelos weather recedes as summer approaches and visitors can rely on a long settled spell of fine sunshine and hot temperatures of up to 32c. This should produce 12 hours of daily sunshine and July and August may well see the mercury rising up to 38c or more so care should be taken when in the sun. Winds are light but do bring some relief from the heat. During the height of summer very little rain will probably fall and it is not unknown to be without any rain from July to September.
Skopelos weather - Crisp and cool winter sunshine
Winter months become increasingly changeable with more than a small likelihood of frequent showers. This will inevitably consist of light but intermittent rainfall and there may even be a sprinkling of snow cover on higher ground from January onwards. Much of the island closes down for the winter but the New Year brings a spell of fine, crisp sunshine with temperatures comfortable at 12c. Strong winds can occur in February and March with the possibility of inter-island sea transport affected, although with its sheltered position, Skopelos is less prone to blustery conditions.
