History
Sinquerim is the home of the 17th Century Fort Aguada. "Aguada" means water in Portuguese, and there is a fresh water spring beneath the fortress. Reis Magos Fort is also nearby, containing Goa's oldest church.

Sinquerim is a good base from which to explore North and South Goa. It's just 8 miles away to the banks of the Mandovi River to Panjim, the quiet capital of Goa. It's worth taking a trip here to wander the charming cobbled streets and red roofed Baroque architecture, built in the Portuguese style.
