Seychelles Weather - Ideal beach holiday climate The numerous islands of the Seychelles have a tropical climate ensuring high temperatures all year with a fine record of sunshine. They are generally low lying although the main island of Mahe does have a hilly region which receives a little more rainfall and cloudy weather than elsewhere. Seychelles weather is affected by the south east trade winds which bring rain to many of the islands' southern coastlines and a likelihood of cloudy weather especially during wintertime. Temperatures remain high at 29c throughout the year and cool winds reduce the effects of high humidity.
Seychelles Weather - Blue skies and cooling breezes Summer weather in the Seychelles is hot and dry with unbroken blue skies although brief showers are a possibility from April to September. While fine and dry, the temperatures are never too oppressive with an average of 28c enjoying 8 hours of daily sunshine. This is due to the cooling effects of coastal breezes which are extremely pleasant and ideal for the practise of water sports. Wind speeds do increase during August and September but rarely affect the enjoyment of a beach holiday. Summer nights can feel muggy and humid but are not overly uncomfortable.
Seychelles Weather - Low rainfall and winter sunshine The many islands of the Seychelles have some variation in climate during winter with overcast conditions broken by spells of fine weather before returning cloudy again. November through to March are the wettest months which can bring high levels of humidity. Seychelles weather rarely experiences severe winds and prolonged heavy rainfall and winter months generally enjoy continuing sunny skies, brief showers and cloud which are not unpleasant. Temperatures reach 29c with warm seas and 7 hours of daily sunshine.
