Sao Joao Weather

With a record breaking 3000 hours of sunshine per year you are guaranteed excellent weather in Sao Joao. The southern coast of Portugal is an all year round sunshine location with temperatures reaching over the 30C mark during July and August. Even the winter months will provide enough sunshine to pick up a golden tan with temperatures hovering between 17C and 20C. You can expect the beaches at Albufeira and Praia d’Oura to be bustling with sun lovers any time of the year. Sun levels in this area of the Algarve are high with an average of 12 hours per day during the summer and six hours per day during the winter months.

 

Sao Joao has always been a popular beach resort with British holiday-makers thanks to the excellent climate. The temperature does not usually dip below the 20C mark between April and the end of October. From July until the end of August the temperature in Sao Joao will not usually head below 25C making this beach resort perfect for lounging in the sun and swimming in the sea. The sun in the Algarve can get very hot during the peak summer months so the proper protection is important. Many holiday-makers will visit during the spring and autumn months when the temperatures will still be warm but not as intense as July or August.

 

The weather in Sao Joao is quite stable all year round. Rainfall will occur during the autumn and winter months but will usually take the form of an occasional thunderstorm. A holiday in Sao Joao during the holiday seasons of Christmas, New Year, Easter and October will all guarantee plenty of sunshine with cooler comfortable temperatures.
