Santa Lucia Holidays
Santa Lucia is one of the very best beaches in Cuba, with miles of soft white sand protected by the world’s second largest coral reef and gently washed by a clear blue sea. A holiday in Santa Lucia is perfect for a beach holiday at just about any time of the year and would be enjoyed by couples, families and water sports enthusiasts alike. The reef, clear waters and teeming marine life, as well as sunken pirate ships and Spanish galleons, make this a paradise for scuba divers, and anyone who would like to learn. Santa Lucia’s beauty is also appreciated by the large colony of roseate flamingos that have made it their home.

Holidays In Santa Lucia – Blue skies, white beach, pink flamingos
Although music, especially salsa, is everywhere in Cuba, Santa Lucia is not known for its nightlife, but there are bars, shops and some clubs around the resort and most hotels offer entertainment. Situated on the north coast of Cuba in the Camaguey Province, an area of outstanding beauty, Santa Lucia, the Jardines del Rey archipelago and the beautiful cays (small, sandy islands) of Caguama and Sabinal offer a chance to get away from it all and experience another world – above or below the sea. This is where Hemingway came to relax, fish and write - as well as chasing German u-boats. A holiday in Santa Lucia could include a visit to the nearby Sierra de Cubitas for which it is worth employing a guide to reveal the wonders of the caves and grottoes with their ancient paintings.
Santa Lucia Holidays – 12 miles of sand, 12 months of sun
Apart from fabulous beaches and almost guaranteed year-round sun, Cuba is famous, of course, for its high quality cigars, rum and Arabica coffee, its colonial buildings and old American cars. Most hotels will organise trips to cities, plantations and rum factories, or there is car hire available. The nearest city, Camaguey, a little over an hour away, is known for its narrow, twisting streets constructed to make life difficult for marauding pirates. The island’s famous old capital, Havana, is more than 300 miles to the west, but it may be possible to combine a stay there with your holiday in Santa Lucia. However, the lure of a perfect palm-shaded spot on a twelve-mile beach with an ice-cold mojito could be enough to keep anyone from travelling further.
