Our review of Salou
The most popular resort on the Costa Dorada, Salou has been a favourite with UK visitors for many years and it is not difficult to see why. As a purpose built holiday resort it boasts an amazing array of amenities and entertainment with something that should appeal to all. Families will appreciate the long sandy beaches that offer safe swimming and exciting water sports activities and the nearby Port Aventura theme park will keep kids enthralled for days with exhilarating rollercoaster rides and family entertainment. This lively resort has an amazing range of bars and clubs that stay open until the early hours attracting large numbers of young revellers and a wide range of cuisine is served in the many restaurants and cafes. Salou is ideally placed for a number of interesting day excursions with the cosmopolitan attractions of Barcelona just one hour away and the elegant historic city of Tarragona is also within easy reach. The surrounding countryside has numerous traditional villages and fishing ports to discover and abundant bird and wildlife can be found in the many nature reserves of the Costa Dorada. A holiday in Salou is easily accessible, just 20 minutes away from Reus airport which enjoys regular charter flights from many UK airports. The resort of Salou is ideal for people seeking value for money, lots of activities and attractions and with some authentic Spanish atmosphere.
