Ryanair has announced huge expansion plans for winter 2008 with the launch of 40 new European routes, including 12 in the UK. Ryanair is to operate new routes from London Luton, London Stansted, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Bournemouth and Glasgow.
Cheap flights from Luton will operate to Beziers, Derry, Kaunas, Rzeszow, Szczecin (Poland) and Trapani (Sicily), whilst flights from Stansted will operate to Madrid. Ryanair flights from Bristol will fly to Gdansk, Marrakesh and Szczecin, and flights from Birmingham will operate to Frankfurt. Finally, Manchester flights to Brussels will complete Ryanair’s biggest expansion to date.
Ryanair’s Bridget Dowling said: “While other airlines are busy increasing fuel surcharges, Ryanair is busy guaranteeing the lowest fares and no fuel surcharges ever on 40 new European routes. Passengers at 12 European bases are set to benefit from our biggest ever single expansion, and these 40 new routes will ensure passenger savings of £150m compared to the high fares levied by Europe’s fuel surcharging flag carriers.”
To celebrate the new routes, 250,000 seats on Ryanair flights will be available for just £10 one way. Demand is expected to be high so it is advised to book early.
