Nightlife
Nightlife in Rovinj is second to none and there are many great bars, clubs and discos. The old and new town have their own distinctive bars and clubs that range from the traditional to the trendy. Look out for the open air bars where you can drink designer cocktails and buy real Cuban cigars.
Restaurants
If you are a lover of seafood then a holiday in Rovinj will be a dream. The excellent reputation of these seafood establishments is known throughout the Istria region. There are also many harbour front restaurants where you can dine in the open air and choose from traditional or international dishes.
Beaches
There are numerous beaches in Rovinj that are excellent for sunbathing or swimming in the clear blue waters. There are also beaches on the nearby islands of Sveta Katarina and Crveni otok both easily reached by a 30minute ferry ride. The surrounding pine forests give excellent shade whichever beach you choose to lie on.
Hiking and walking
The hiking and walking trails in Rovinj consist of breathtaking views, medieval towns and ancient monuments. Take the trail from Rovinj to Vodnjam and onto the Roman city of Pula, you can also catch the ferry and travel on to the Brijuni National Park.
The Brijuni Islands
A must visit national park consisting of 14 islands, although visitors are only permitted on two of the islands. A day trip to the islands will include a tour on a miniature railway where you will visit the safari park and view the numerous wildlife including two elephants that were a gift from Indira Gandhi.
Diving and Sailing
The crystal clear Adriatic waters are perfect for diving, and there are numerous diving schools along the coast. Diving can consist of swimming through underwater caves, cliffs and sunken wrecks. Sailing in Rovinj is also a popular pastime and there is no better way to view the coast than from the deck of a yacht. There are many yachts and boats that can be hired inexpensively from the harbour area in Rovinj.
