Roquetas de Mar, situated on the Costa de Almeria in south-eastern Spain, is a popular tourist resort, with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of facilities for visitors. The resort is home to a childrens’ play area, featuring a bouncy castle and a trampoline, a huge water-park, crazy-golf and a mini-train which runs around the resort. Horse-riding, sailing and diving can all be found in Roquetas de Mar, and the resort has an 18-hole golf course. The old town, the pueblo, is great for exploring, and historical sites to see include the Santa Ana old Moorish fortress and the Church of Nuestra Senora del Rosiana. The salt-marshes of Las Marinas are popular with nature-lovers and bird-watchers, and a trip up to the mountains offers some spectacular scenery and breath-taking views.
