Sunshine levels are high, and you can expect six hours of sunshine per day for much of the year. The rainy season lasts from May until the middle of October although this does not trouble the dry, northern area too much. If rain does appear it will be short-lived and will not have too much effect on the high temperatures. June, July and August are the hottest months of the year and temperatures can reach over the 33C mark.

Easter and October holidays on the Rivera Maya are also a popular time to escape the British chill and achieve a golden tan.
