Riviera Maya Holidays
The Riviera Maya is a 30km stretch of coastline in the Yucatan peninsula, incorporating pristine white-sand Caribbean beaches, dense jungles and ancient ruins. Running from Punta Tanchacte in the north to Punta Allen in the south, the Riviera Maya is home to some of the major Mexican holidays resorts, such as Cancun and Playa del Carmen, and has developed to such an extent that the area now has almost 24,000 hotel rooms.

Beach Holidays in Riviera Maya
Stretching all the way down the eastern peninsula, and facing the Caribbean Sea, the Riviera Maya offers all the ingredients for a perfect beach holiday, with relaxing beaches, an amazing array of watersports and a wide choice of hotel accommodation. Flying into Cancun International Airport, visitors have a wide selection of resorts to choose from, ranging from the action-packed party-town of Cancun itself, to the more laid-back but equally as popular Playa del Carmen, known as the capital of the Riviera Maya. For those in search of more peace and tranquility, resorts such as Playa del Secreto and Punta Maroma in the Riviera Maya offer quiet beaches, perfect for complete relaxation, whilst Puerto Aventuras and Playacar are good choices for sports facilities, such as golf and tennis and family holidays. Accommodation in the Riviera Maya is quite varied, ranging from small bed-and-breakfasts to exclusive hotels, with most resorts catering for luxury holidays and all inclusive holidays.

Riviera Maya Holiday Activities
Holidays in Riviera Maya are mainly all about the fabulous beaches that run along the coastline. With powdery white sands and coconut trees, the Riviera Maya is the ideal location for relaxing in the sun, and the crystal clear waters are perfect for snorkelling. The island of Cozumel is home to some of the best scuba-diving in the world, and the Riviera Maya boasts the second largest barrier reef in the world. For the more energetic, most of the resorts offer a wide range of watersports, and there are numerous golf courses and tennis courts in the Riviera Maya. Jungle tours into the dense forests are popular trips, as are tours around the ancient civilization of Tulum, and the pyramid at Chichen Itza.
