The hotel is located in a quiet residential area but not far from Alghero town centre – around a 20 minute walk away. Alghero is a beautiful medieval town, with old ramparts, cobbled streets, shuttered windows and flower-laden balconies. There is a long sandy beach 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel, and a little further on the stunning Maria Pia beach, backed by fragrant pine forest behind, slopes down into warm shallow waters. For a change of scene, you can catch a train to nearby Sassari – an attractive city full of stunning architecture, museums, Cathedrals and parks – or book a day trip by boat to Corsica.

 

Accommodation at the Hotel Riviera consists of 55 light and airy rooms set across 3 floors. Standard rooms come with 2 or 3 beds. All rooms come with air-conditioning free of charge in the hottest months of July and August, and available for a surcharge outside these months. Rooms have a bathroom with WC and half bath with shower attachment or separate shower cubicle. There is a TV and telephone, and guests can request a room with a balcony. All rooms are non-smoking. Single rooms without a balcony can also be booked.

 

The Hotel Riviera offers a good range of facilities for a small hotel. There is the attractive pool area and surrounding gardens, which is tucked away behind vine- covered walls and palm trees giving a hidden oasis feel. A relaxed trattoria-style restaurant serves a Continental breakfast and mix of Italian and international dishes. A lounge area and bar inside the hotel offer respite from the sun and a refreshing range of drinks, and there is an additional bar besides the pool. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, safety deposit box hire and luggage storage facility.
