This impressive historical landmark – the Torre Apponale – offers the opportunity to absorb some of the most spectacular views of Lake Garda. A reasonably tough climb, but well worth it.

Rocca, the medieval fortress, just above the town, presents an array of entertainment throughout the summer and the leafy park just outside the grounds offers the perfect spot for some shady respite. If you fancy exploring further afield, other lake towns such as Limone and Malcesine are easily reachable by car, ferry or bus. Try taking the cable car from Malcesine to Monte Baldo for breathtaking views and a variety of beautiful walks.

One hiking trail takes you to the spectacular Cascata Verone, a 100 meter waterfall that is well worth a visit.
