Beach
Quarteira boasts one of the longest beaches in the Algarve and is one of the major attractions for holiday makers who return to the area year after year. This famous stretch of sandy beach is lined with palm trees and is surrounded by numerous restaurants, bars and cafes. Although it can be busy during the summer there is more than enough room to find a secluded spot, and there is no shortage of water activities in the area.

There is a vibrant nightlife scene in Quarteira and the surrounding area. Head to nearby Vilamoura if you fancy trying your hand at the casino tables or dancing the night away in the nightclubs. In Quarteira you can sample the quieter local bars and restaurants that offer a laid back atmosphere and friendly locals.
Aquaparks
There are two main aquaparks in Quarteira with more than enough water rides and chutes to keep kids and adults entertained for hours. You can choose from Atlantic Park or the Aquashow, which also boasts a mini racing track with scaled down Formula One racing cars.
Culture
Culture lovers should visit the nearby village of Loule, which features a castle and some authentic examples of Portuguese architecture. Visit on a Saturday and you can also catch the weekly gypsy market selling leather goods and hand made souvenirs.
Sightseeing
Take a break from the beach and head off on one of the many excursions available. Visit the sightseeing attractions in nearby Vilamoura such as the vibrant marina where you can shop and sample food from around the world in the many restaurants, cafes, and bars. Or take in the spectacular scenery and majestic flamingos on the famous Quinta do Lago nature trail.
