Punta Brava is a secluded peaceful resort, yet only 35 minutes from downtown Cancun and 15 minutes from the capital of the Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, with shuttle buses running from the El Dorado Royale to both towns. Most visitors to Punta Brava tend to just relax on the beach and make the most of the hotels’ facilities, but for those who want to venture out and explore, the Riviera Maya offers many fascinating day trips. Trips to the ancient Mayan temples are recommended, with one of the most popular being Tulum, situated to the south of Punta Brava - one of the only civilizations built by the sea, with an impressive Castillo still perched on the limestone cliff face.
